[SERVER] Install Apache 2.2 on FreeBSD 8.2

Kali ini saya akan menuliskan tentang bagaimana cara install apache 2.2 di FreeBSD 8.2
Berikut langakah-langkahnya:

Installing Apache and PHP engine are very easy to do on this system.
Update ports collection, you can read how to do that in below posts and do the following:

# whereis apache22
# cd /usr/ports/www/apache22
# make install clean

Leave default values.
After installation do this:

# edit /usr/local/etc/apache22/httpd.conf – apache configuration file*
– go to line 138 and find ServerAdmin – put your email
– go to line 147 and find ServerName – put
– save and exit

You can test your configuration:

# apachectl configtest

Now add this to rc.conf file to run apache at boot time:

# edit /etc/rc.conf – add apache22_enable=”YES” andapache22_http_accept_enable=”YES”

Start apche22

# /usr/local/sbin/apchectl start

Now you can test your apache from telnet:

# telnet localhost 80 – two times press enter key and run this #GET/HTTP/1.0

That’s it, log files are stored here:

For debug run this:

# /usr/local/apache2/bin/httpd -S

In later posts I will show how to run name based virtual hosts on apache, but before that I will show how to install PHP engine and show some tips for Apache. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment.

* On FreeBSD all configuration files of third party applications are stored in /usr/local/etc directory!

Selamat Mencoba 😀
